Espacio Candela debuts with «Moods in Motion», a solo show by REMIO
Barcelona, Spain — Espacio Candela is pleased to announce its first exhibition, «Moods in Motion», featuring the work of the internationally recognized artist REMIO. The gallery is dedicated to showcasing bold and thought-provoking art, and this inaugural exhibition, opening on 29 November 2024 in the heart of Barcelona's Raval district, marks an important milestone in that endeavour.
Curated by Tiziana Amico, «Moods in Motion» brings REMIO’s dynamic characters into the gallery space, transforming the walls of Espacio Candela into an immersive world that explores the raw spectrum of human emotion. The exhibition shows a range of expressive forms that reflect the fluidity of moods, from the joyful to the melancholic, the solitary to the communal. Using the spontaneous energy of graffiti, REMIO’s works challenge the conventional notions of identity. It creates a fluid dialogue between individuality and shared experience. His works are filled with bold, whimsical characters, recounting a visual story that is both intensely personal and universally relatable. His characters — from the sticker installation and ceramic works to the intimate pieces on canvas — reveal the many layers that shape an individual’s emotional state and reflect the diverse personalities that coexist within urban environs. In every piece, visitors are invited to engage themselves with the thought of how their identities, too, keep moving in flux through their everyday surroundings.
